The EIL Suite of Resources
Emotionally Intelligent Leadership for Students (EILS) is a groundbreaking program meant to lead students through discovery of not only their emotional intelligence, but of how to put that intelligence to use when serving as a formal or informal leader. Through this set of resources, students will have a practical roadmap for discovering, understanding, and developing their EIL capacities. Leadership, the authors explain, is within everyone’s ability to develop and is not just for those in formal leadership roles in organizations. The EIL model explores the notion that change is facilitated by leaders and followers working together toward shared aspirations.
- Emotionally Intelligent Leadership: A Guide for College Students offers an in-depth explanation of the model, and tools for reflection on the concepts of leadership
- EILS–Inventory is a reliable, quantitative and qualitative, 8-page assessment of emotion- ally intelligent leadership skills. It helps students uncover their own emotionally intelligent leadership skills and includes guidance for further devel- opment on the capacities where the student has growth potential.
- EILS–Development Guide offers further guidance for devel- opment for each of the 21 capacities, including: defini- tions, student quotes, suggest- ed experiences and activities, further reading and films to watch, notable quotes, and reflection questions.
- EILS–Workbook includes mod- ularized learning activities for each capacity, case studies and resources for additional learning. It can be used as part of a facilitated course or workshop, or as a stand-alone, follow-up experience that students can use on their own.
- EILS–Facilitation and Activity Guide uses step-by-step in- structions to lead facilitators and instructors through modularized activities found in the EILS Workbook. They can be taught in any se- quence and customized to fit the needs of a curricular or co-curricular program.
